Blood Donation Camp
A life may depend on a gesture from you, a bottle of Blood.
Started on 7th February 1981 the Blood Donation Camp organized by NSS BITS Pilani continues to be one of the most awaited events organized by NSS in BITS Pilani . The event being one of it’s kind is the largest blood donation camp conducted by any educational institution in India .
NSS Blood Donation Camp is an initiative by NSS BITS-Pilani, Pilani Campus, which in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society, New Delhi organizes this event each year in the month of Jan- Feb. The event always has been a huge success from it’s start attracting a large number of people including the students from within the campus as well as the local residents of pilani .

With such continued efforts and support of people who have helped made previous BDC’s a huge success we believe that we’ll cross the 1000 unit mark this year.
- NSS BITS-Pilani has grabbed Red Cross Award three times for highest units of blood collected from any educational institution.
- A total of 875 units of blood were collected in 2014.This is the maximum number of units ever collected by an educational institute.
- NSS has also been felicitated by Honorable Health Minister Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad for providing the maximum number of voluntary blood donors in 2010.
- NSS of BITS Pilani was honored by Indian Red Cross Society on Friday 20th June 2014 for the highest collection of blood units among educational institutions of India during 2013-14. The trophy was presented by Dr Harsh Vardhan, Hon'ble Union Health Minister and Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society in the presence of Dr S P Aggarwal, General Secretary of Indian Red Cross Society, Dr V K Subburaj, Secretary, Ministry of Health and Dr Nata Menabde, Representative, WHO in a function held at Indian Red Cross Society Headquarters, Delhi.
